Whether you’re just starting out or you’re an experienced photographer looking to expand your skills, this all-day, hands-on workshop is designed to give you a deep dive into the two most essential approaches to food photography: natural light and studio light.
Taught by Scott Erb & Donna Dufault of Erb/Dufault Photography, this workshop will guide you through the art and technique of capturing drool-worthy food images that are both technically strong and visually irresistible.

What You’ll Learn
Morning Session: Natural Light (10:00am–12:30pm)
How to find and shape beautiful window light.
Choosing the right angle for each dish.
Using reflectors and diffusers to control shadows.
Composition techniques that make food the hero.
Hands-on shooting with styled food setups.
Lunch Break: 12:30–1:15pm
Bring your lunch or step out for a quick bite.
Afternoon Session: Studio Lighting (1:15–4:00pm)
Introduction to continuous lights and strobes for food.
Light modifiers explained (softboxes, scrims, reflectors).
One-light setups that mimic natural daylight.
Multi-light setups for more dramatic effects.
Hands-on practice with professional lighting gear.
