Salting the Steak

Salting the Steak

When Mike said, “We want you to spend several hours photographing in the kitchen with the chefs preparing the foods.” I knew it was a dream job. After the initial chat about want kind of images he was looking for, we got to work. And let me tell you these guys work hard in the kitchen. There is a lot of prep, a lot of chopping, cutting, slicing, and there are a lot of decisions.

We were also asked to spend some time with the talented bar staff. They wanted to capture some unique drink concoctions and expert pours.

Donna worked on capturing some of the details that are easily overlooked in a busy work space. Hand written recipes and perfectly weighed portions.

This was a dream job for both of us for so many reasons. They guys welcomed us into the kitchen and shared their talents. When we returned for dinner a few weeks later, it was really satisfying to see these images donning the walls of the restaurant. Bringing a little slice of the kitchen on to the restaurant floor. You get a small peek at the hard work they put in and we have a wonderful appreciation for the work they do. Be sure to visit The People’s Kitchen over at 1 Exchange Place, Worcester, MA – it’s right behind the DCU center. Eat a glorious meal and check out the art on the walls… We had a wonderful time making it!
