It’s true- Sometimes- you need to have some fun! And for me – that sometimes involves going out with my friends and photographing something I have never photographed before. This time- it was a Worcester Sharks game. Yep- a whole pile of us photographers from the Worcester Photography Center got ourselves organized, contacted the Sharks and managed to get ourselves all access passes to the last game of the season- which also turned out to be Fan Appreciation Night. Bonus! So we got to climb up to the catwalk to take photos as well as be down near the ice taking photos. We were all over the arena – It was a great evening- and very – very fun!
Our group does a lot of things together during the year. The Worcester Photo Center is a place where people with an interest in Photography can get together and chat, hang out, talk about gear, vision, creativity and share with one another. So when the group asked if we could shoot a sporting event- Hockey seemed like a great choice in April. I have to thank the folks over at the Sharks for allowing us into the arena like this. Being down by the glass, seeing the space from above and participating in the events surrounding the game- was soooo much fun. In fact we are looking at going back again with the group this coming season. So if this is something you’d like to do – stay tuned in- go to the Photo Meetup site and sign up to get our emails. Afterall, it’s fun and it’s free to join the photo group!
